Operators Safety Code
Power Point Presentation / Safety Videos
Appropriate PPE
Dynamic Risk Assessment / Hazard Perception
Types of Lifting Equipment  eg Slings / Shackles
Safe Working Loads (SWL)
Slinging Techniques
Slinging Angles 
Calculating minimum SWL’s of Slinging Equipment
Safely Lift / Transport / Lower loads
Hand Signals for Signalling
Signalling Techniques and Procedures
Theory Test

Practical:

Correct selection of Slinging Equipment
Pre-Use Inspection
Load Assessment Establishing weight / Centre of Gravity
Slinging of Load
Lifting / Transporting / Safe Siting / Lowering of Load
Correction of load swing
Safe removal of Slinging Equipment
Correct tidy up procedure
Correct Signalling techniques
Control when Signalling
Correct use of hand signals
Practical Test

After course completion:

Upon successful completion of the training course, delegates will receive a Certificate of Basic Training for Slinging and Signalling.
Successful delegates will be registered onto the AITT (ACORNS)                                              National Operators Registration Scheme Database.
ACORNS Operator Photocards are also available to purchase for a small additional fee.
Operators should complete a Refresher training course between 3 to 5 years after the Date of Test of the initial Basic Training course.
